Morris Motors is basically a British Motor manufacturing company that was launched in the year 1910 by William Morris who was a former bicycle manufacturer. With an attempt to create a two-seater he resulted in the Morris Oxford which had a bulbous front. He realized the need for four-seater cars and started producing them from the year 1915. Slowly they gained the reputation for the manufacture of quality cars. Then they introduced the Morris Minor which became their most iconic car. In the year 1952 Morris was merged with Austin Motor Company. Till today Morris cars are regarded as valuable collectors’ items and have great esteem among collectors. Morris cars remain the favorite with both the young and the old.

Morris Minor is a British economy car designed and manufactured in the year 1948. The Morris Minor was touted as a “new generation” of a small car.

The Morris Minor MM series was designed and created by Alex Lssigonis. He fitted the engines right over the front wheels which proved to improve the stability and controllability of the car. Morris Motors originally launched the Morris Minor MM series cars that included four seats and two doors. Later they introduced cars with four seaters and convertible four-seat tourer. The light, rack-and-pinion steering made it a delight to drive this model. These cars were powered by 918cc engines to render a 64mph speed. The brakes incorporated four wheel drums. The carpets were made of a material called Karvel which is no longer available these days.

Minor 1000 is an updated version of the original one with an increased capacity of 948cc. The extra power was much appreciated, especially in the U.S.A. As a result sales peaked in the U.S.A with a total of 14, 991 cars in the year 1959 alone. The size of the rear window was enlarged and the split windscreen was replaced by a curved one. Similarly the semaphore trafficators were substituted by the flashing indicators.

Keero was really helpful over the phone. He asked a couple of questions and we figured out straight away that the problem was most likely a dead battery. Phil was in the area and arrived in less than 40 minutes. Got a new battery and I was back up and running again. Thanks guys.
